Meet the 2018-2020 Executive Board

We are a proud group of parents, teachers and community members who share a common belief – we are advocates for our children and community.  We work together to provide resources and programs that benefit our students and families in addition to supporting our teachers and schools.

The best way to get involved is to attend the our general meetings to let your voice be heard.  You can also support the PTSA by becoming a member or joining one of our committees

Andrea Millwood, President (2018-2020)
Mrs. Millwood is currently the President of the Roosevelt PTSA. She is responsible for managing the PTSA as defined by unit bylaws and working with the Executive Board and ad hoc committee chairmen to provide support and services for our students, their families, teachers and schools. Andrea was born in island of Jamaica. She is a long-time resident of the Roosevelt community where she attended and graduated high school. She currently works for North Shore Land Alliance, a nationally accredited land trust who is responsible for building the Roosevelt Community Garden. She earned a B.A. and M.S. from New York Institute of Technology and is a graduate from the Nassau County PLI (Parent Leadership Initiative). Mrs. Millwood believes in giving back to her community and is passionate about serving others. She lives in the community with her husband and her three children who all currently attends one of the schools in the district.
Simone Seymore-Jackson, Treasurer
Simone Seymore-Jackson is the Treasurer of the Roosevelt PTSA. She is responsible for managing and sustaining the financial health of a unit. Click here for a detailed Treasurer job description. Simone has been a resident of the Roosevelt community for more than 40 years (1975) where she graduated in 1985. She earned her degrees from Hampton University (HBCU) and Molloy College. Simone is a dually certified Secondary Educator (History/Social Studies and Students with Exceptional Needs). She’s been teaching in the district since 2015 where the taught in both the Middle and High Schools. She has three children who all attended Roosevelt Schools. Her youngest is entering her Junior year (11th grade) at Roosevelt High School — class of 2020. She is active in the Roosevelt Teachers Association (teachers union), mentors new teachers in the district, provides home instruction and is the high School club advisor.

Nicole Castro-Rivera, Vice President of Technology/Communications
Nicole Rivera, NBCT-Nicole is the Resource Room teacher at Washington Rose Elementary School where she loves working with her students and collaborating with her colleagues. Nicole is a Wilson certified Dyslexia Practitioner. She is also a National Board Certified Exceptional Needs Specialist ( Mild to Moderate Disabilities birth-21), number three of Roosevelt’s seven NBCT, serves as a national board candidate support provider in Nassau County and has worked to create and present teacher leadership professional development for the National Board Counsel of New York. Nicole is the Roosevelt district’s Committee on Preschool Special Education Chairperson and district alternate Committee on Special Education Chairperson, in this role, she enjoys collaborating with parents, educators and clinicians to ensure students get the supports they need. Nicole serves as both the Roosevelt district webmaster, and the Washington Rose sub-site director, in this role she loves ensuring the greatness of Roosevelt’s students, educators and schools is highlighted and displayed on the web.
Hendrick Fayette, Vice President of Finance
Mr. Fayette is a 26 year resident of Roosevelt where he attended Roosevelt public schools and local private schools. He received his Master’s degree from Queens College in urban and public policy and received his Bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Hendrick enjoys serving his community and currently serves in the United States Air Force Reserve as a Staff Sergeant/Non-Commissioned Officer and works at Northwell Health as a coordinator for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Previously, Fayette served as a school board trustee on the Roosevelt Board of Education and many regional nonprofit groups which provided needed services to underserved communities.
Heather Pinckey, Centennial Avenue Elementary School
Heather Pinckey is the building director for the Centennial Avenue Elementary School. She is the primary liaison between the school and the Roosevelt PTSA and is responsible for collaborating with the principal to execute all PTSA initiatives. Heather was raised in Hempstead, New York and is a graduate from Kellenberg Memorial High School. She received her B.S. from LIU/CW Post in information management and technology. She is a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church in Baldwin where she serves a greeter, on the health and wellness committee and as the Pastor’s aide. She has a passion for dancing and enjoys helping people reach their goals and highest potential. Since the birth of her son, Heather is more motivated and excited to participate on the PTSA. She considers it an honor and a pleasure to serve her community while supporting her son, his education and our schools.
Linda Boyce, Building Director of Ulysses Byas Elementary School
Linda BoyceLinda Boyces is the building director for Ulysses Byas Elementary School. She is the primary liaison between the school and the Roosevelt PTSA and is responsible for collaborating with the principal to execute all PTSA initiatives. Ms. Boyce has been an instructor at the Ulysses Byas elementary school for over twenty years. She earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Adelphi University and is currently pursuing Literacy Certification. Ms. Boyce has been an active participant in the Roosevelt PTSA for many years. She is an advocate for building strong collaboration between schools, parents and the community in order to be effective advocates for the success of students! She is the proud mother of six and has three wonderful grandchildren. She continues to work in her local community, church and in various extra curricular arenas to encourage and promote positivity and progress.
Francisca B. Myrie, Building Director of Washington Rose Elementary School
Francisca Myrie is the building director for the Washington Rose Elementary School. She is the primary liaison between the school and the Roosevelt PTSA and is responsible for collaborating with the principal to execute all PTSA initiatives. Francisca B. Myrie was born in Colon, Panama and is bilingual in English and Spanish as well as versed in American Sign language. She is the President and CEO Jack of All Trades Party Entertainment, a children’s entertainment company. Francisca graduated from CUNY Medgar Evers College with an Associate in Business Administration and CUNY Bernard Baruch College with a B.A. in Corporate Communications. She an avid advocate for the education and rights of children and firmly believes in having high moral standards, and work ethics. She’s a member of the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce, currently the Girl Scouts Service Unit Manager for Roosevelt, and the leader of Troop 1329. Francisca lives in the community with her husband Ernesto Myrie and is a proud mother of two children: Jonathan, 24 and Jayda, 9.
